Soggy Starlings

It was a beautiful Spring morning but typically by the time I had some free time the rain had set in. I decided to try and photograph some Starlings because come rain come shine they carry on with their usual raucous shenanigans.

More of the Same

The weather was really disappointing today, this added to a trip to KwickFit for a tyre change meant that photography opportunities were limited today. I did call into the Lodge at Sandy this morning for some bird food but didn't have time to take a stroll and given that the rain was hammering down photography would have proved somewhat challenging.

So it was back to the Garden to photograph the usual suspects - part of the time through the kitchen window!

Feeling Like Spring

At last! Even if it was only for half a day a real feeling of Spring today. Saw my first Bumble Bees of the year and although 7 spot Ladybirds can be found in all but the harshest of weather there was an explosion of activity today.

Lots of Birds around the feeders including my first garden Brambling (F) Here is a small selection:

Rainy Day Blues

And I had the temerity to complain about the poor light yesterday. Today we got poor light with the added bonus of driving rain - wonderful!

I called into Priory Country Park on my way home from work today, it was a bit bleak (to put it mildly) and most of the birds were in the mist out on the main lake. It was difficult to keep my camera dry but I did manage a few captures.

Rainy Day Blue Tit

Didn't get very far today as the rain was not conducive to walking or photography. These captures were taken out of our back bedroom window.

The Five Minute Friday Twilight Shoot

My usual Friday dash to find an image for my Blipfoto Journal took me down to Bedford Embankment in the twilight of what had been a very dull day anyway. An extremely co-operative Mute Swan sat preening on the bank.
